Musical Lexicon – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”

4 Feb

Remember me? I was that guy who was awesome.

So, the other day I was talking with your fearless leader, Matt, and the topic turned into a game I’d been playing with myself in my own head for quite some time now. First, pick a topic. Then, you populate that topic with appropriate words. Then, you try to find a song that uses each one of those words in their lyrics. Here are the rules I use…

1) You can’t use the same song more than once, for any topic.

2) Within topics, you can’t use the same artist more than once.

3) The selected word has to be in the lyrics, but not necessarily in the title. If it’s in the title but not the lyrics, it doesn’t count.

4) You can look through your own music collection for help, but NO GOOGLE.

So let’s start off small, with a nice easy topic. I’ll post the list today, and in a few days I’ll post up my “answers.” Feel free to post your own answers below as comments. Super fan points go to whoever is the first to post a full list.

Today’s Topic – Colors
