Musical Lexicon – “I Get Around”

26 Feb

So the other day I totalled my car (I made it out without injury, as did the occupants of the other car). As a result, I find myself at a loss for modes of transportation. Sure, for the time being I can bum rides off of friends, but eventually I need a new way to get around. Help me out with some ideas, internet, with this week’s topic. First, a quick reminder of the rules…

1) You can’t use the same song more than once, for any topic.

2) Within topics, you can’t use the same artist more than once.

3) The selected word has to be in the lyrics, but not necessarily in the title. If it’s in the title but not the lyrics, it doesn’t count.

4) You can look through your own music collection for help, but NO GOOGLE.

5) Variations or specific examples are acceptable (unless otherwise stated), but not preferred. (e.g. “Pistol” or “Guns” work if the word on the list is “Gun”)

Today’s Topic – Transportation

I never was one to follow rules…so..Here uis my pain..

First thing to get done son
Is “Get a Job”…Than your Fear old Daddy lamented that fateful day..”Boy..You’re gonna drive me to drinkin if you don’t stop driving that hot rod Lincoln..”..Now you got no Lincoln ..You got no ride..You are full of misery..Not so with pride..I heard it through the Grapevine..that a way to claim a ride sans your shame is to get to the yellow pages..find the nearest..Salvation Army ..and there son will find a salvation of sorts as they take in old wrecks like my ex wife and completely give it a new life after making it steady ready to Rock and Roll..Usually at prices ..even you might afford…Semper Fi
