Amos Lee is Amazing

Amos Lee

Hey guys,

So I was sitting in my room doing a project for nutrition, and I was inputting the vegetables that I planned on eating. I was approaching the submit button to suggest that I eat a serving or two of peas tomorrow. For some reason, after I clicked submit, my shuffling itunes decided to play Sweet Pea, by Amos Lee. Naturally, I listened to it several times before moving on to another Amos Lee song. I have come to the conclusion that Amos Lee is an amazing artist, both musically and lyrically. I enjoy taking my guitar out and jamming along with many of his songs. Unfortunately, having a catchy melody stuck in your helpless head is concomitant with listening to this artist. However, I’m willing to deal with it. Let me know what you guys think. If i had to pick my top three songs by him, I’d have to go with: Supply and Demand, Night Train, Southern Girl, Sweet Pea, and What’s been going on. Yes…I’m aware I said top three, but I decided that I couldn’t pick just three. I’m willing to deal with it. So, let’s talk about Amos Lee and his best songs. We at The Music Court look forward to hearing from you.

#1? Colors. Without a doubt. Supply and Demand hovers around my 2nd favorite. I only discovered Amos Lee thru the show, House. Placed my cell phone by the t.v. and found the artist and title by song recognition and now have a Pandora.com station by that name (Colors). AND, because of this delightful discovery, have been introduced to other similar artists on Pandora. Willy Porter, Matthew Brookshire, Norah Jones, etc… I’m set!

I’d say my favorite is “Supply and Demand.” The song just has an infectious hook with wonderful verses. It is a great song all around. Just a very talented artist.

I have been an Amos Lee fan for years, I saw him last Saturday (July 24, 2010) for the 2nd time he played an acoustical set for Green Note in Seattle just him and his guitar, I forgot he didn’t have his band he filled all the spaces with his beautiful voice, his words, his guitar and him humor. I have many favorites…
    1) Arms of a Woman
    2) Colors
    3) The Wind
    4) Every other song he sings…

He has a new Album coming out January 11, 2011, buy it! You haven’t lived until you hear him live, I would recommend if he is anywhere within a days drive GO! I am still glowing from Saturday…

P.S. Listen to ALL 3 of his Albums every song on each one, he is a story teller with a beautiful voice.
