If you follow the Music Court on Twitter, you probably already know that I attended a concert on Monday night.* It was fun, and the crowd was very much alive and rocking with Alex Clare and his talented band.
The show was at the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles, which I took a roundabout Lyft Line to get to. (Surprise! Lyft Line actually works; my ride ended up picking up and dropping off a duo headed out for Korean BBQ.) With the rain, I thought the ride would be dreadful, but my driver, Ava, was an absolute delight. Give that woman a raise.
Once I was in the theater, I scooted right to the center of the crowd, and watched the opener finish his set. Taylor Berrett had the charisma of Bruno Mars with the songwriting skills that are comparable to John Mayer. He more than adequately warmed up the crowd, talking up Alex Clare’s forthcoming performance, gesturing wildly to prove his point. We were pumped.
Then Alex Clare took the stage, to wild and enthusiastic cheers from his fans. It was as this point that I realized I had never heard Clare’s music. That didn’t affect my enjoyment of the show, though, with Clare’s powerful voice and great stage presence. The music was an eclectic mix of pop standards, bouncing from power ballads to techno mixes to even something that resembled bluegrass. It was a crazy ride, but everyone was on board and happy to be whisked along for the journey.
Before I wrap this up, I would like to take a moment to issue a PSA to all concert-goers. Live music is a group experience, and if one person isn’t enjoying the show, then no one can enjoy the show. Please be respectful of the people around you when you are screaming and dancing like a buffoon. We’re all here to have fun, but one altercation can ruin someone’s night.
This show was sponsored by Skype and Live Nation; you can find more information on the #SkypeSix here. Find more information on Taylor Berrett and Alex Clare here and here, respectively.

My brother recommended I might like this blog.
He used to be entirely right. This publish actually
made my day. You can not consider simply how so much
time I had spent for this info! Thank you!
