No, Bob Dylan (or Robert Zimmerman) is not on the list, nor, would anyone have the guts to put him on the list. But, as much as I am a huge fan of one of the most celebrated figures of music history, I will not be fooled. Let me educate some who do not know. Zimmerman was born in Duluth, Minnesota, where his parents Abram Zimmerman and Betty Stone originally started raising Bob in a small, tight-knit, Jewish community. Listen to Bob Dylan’s southern twang. Listen to his almost incomprehensible croon. I will be among the many Dylan fans who know this fact but keep it hidden inside. That is not his voice. Yet, after years of performing with it and talking with it in daily life, who am I to say that he has not adopted it as his voice.
