Better Angels From Eric H.F. Law Bridges Melodies & Reflections In One

21 Nov

Newly released album, Better Angels from Eric H.F. Law encompasses melodies and reflections in one in a seven track collection. First created when Law had first received his cancer diagnosis, the song Don’t Be Afraid evolved into a stay strong anthem for those listening to him that have been struggling throughout the pandemic and societal shifts. When reflecting on the path and order the songs take on the album, one can infer it takes on the path of the highs and lows of the unmappable journey people are going through during this time. Always interweaving his own personal story and struggles in his songs, since 2015 that desire has only gotten stronger. Inspired by the mission of musicians from the 1960s and 1970s, Law has carried on the mission of carrying his voice out to people to deliver a stronger message to the masses and Better Angels fulfills that soulful obligation and more. Listeners will find the acoustic, but song written style of Law’s music speaks with the music and without, almost an ode to spoken poetry and word.

Close your eyes and tune into the latest single Keep on Driving from Geoff Gibbons and get ready to reflect. Hailing from Vancouver, BC, Canada, he brings an unwavering dose of talent. With powerful lyrics like “I gave them my soul and they buried me deep” setting the tone for an anthem, Gibbons brings his heart into this song. With the sultry instrumentals combining the sounds of the tambourine, guitar, and cabasa, Keep on Driving brings an extra layer of diverse sound as well. This is a perfect song to reflect and tune into if you are in the mood for reflecting and listening to music ready to ignite your soul. By combining the Americana sound with the strong lyrics, Gibbons creates something quite remarkable. It should not surprise listeners that while listening and trying to pinpoint a direct influence within his music, you’ll feel like his music intertwines that of an artist on the road, not being tied down to one sound and one source of inspiration.

D.G. Adams gives us a hint as to what is coming up with his album Nexxt with his latest single Dangerous. While he is not in the throws of Shakespearian words on stage, he is coming up with deep music. Adams’ history had him rooted in acting and then it has evolved into full time musician, kicking it off back in 2011 with the nudging of best friend Torquil Campbell. The standout lyrics from this single are “so pray and shout, but don’t you forget to cast the devil out”. It plays with the symbolism of religion, but packs a heavy punch in the aspect of understanding and relating to the world around us. Instrumentally, the rhythm guitar adds atmosphere to the song and provides this rock, yet folk vibe. In the unusual time that we are living in, the lyrics fit what a lot of people are probably experiencing and mulling over in their minds. By combining the aspects of warning and optimism, D.G. Adams has listeners intrigued and wanting more.

25 Apr

Hailing from Lithuania, Robertas Semeniukas pursues nothing short of passion and dedication in his music. With Backstage Stories consisting of 20 tracks, do not let that stop you from listening. Once you play the first track, you will be hooked. An interesting observation about this album is that it consists of 8 vocal tracks and 12 instrumental ones. Robertas Semeniukas carries a wordly sound in his music and this can be heavily attributed to him playing and recording with a variety of bands over the course of his music career. It is no surprise when one takes a listen to the album, they will hear the influences of Jeff Beck, Slash, Guns N’Roses, Queen, and Metallica to name a few. Semeniukas’s music clearly shows that he has an all around talent at producing, composing, and arranging his music into something extraordinary. With a dedication to his music, he has collaborated with musicians around the world and has performed amongst festivals as well. He is multi-faceted as he extends his musical talents to television projects, session musician, and producer/collaborator as well, Robertas Semeniukas is a prolific composer, producer, arranger, professional guitarist and singer. Pushing that level of passion even further, he also has extended his knowledge into educating future music makers in master classes in Lithuania and around the world. Driven by a deep love for his craft, Robertas’s music has earned him performances in festivals across the globe, from China to Texas. From the synthey guitar that reminds me of the best classic rock and 90s to slower paced tracks, Backstage Stories needs to be on stage, front and center.
