Damon Mitchell Dives Into A Story of Heartbreak, Reflecting & Angst In EP Elise

From the opening of the EP with the angst track Heist to the heartbreak song titled Elise, Mitchell showcases his range and skill of storytelling exceptionally well in this collection of work. With a 60s/70s vibe, he is able to hone in on the overlooked nuances of characters within his songs. Instrumentally, it has the violin sounds effortlessly accompanying the guitar and harmonica within the song. Lyrics such as “did you have to go, will I ever know?” showcase questions that we may have asked ourselves at some point in our life looking back on shut doors. It brings up to the surface how the human mind self doubts years later and goes back as well. With the mentioning and symbolic references heavily pointing out the license plate in the narrative, it leaves the listener with a new meaning to something that could be overlooked. Damon Mitchell, keep on finding the details that everyone overlooks and incorporating it in your music, its bonafide genius.

Michael Bruner Showcases The Idea of Reconnection In Don’t Mean Broken In Latest Music Video

Michael Bruner and his heartfelt messages of re connection are showcased in his Don’t Mean Broken music video. The music video showcases the cycle of their friendship and how it came around full circle. Bruner’s voice sounds very similar to musician Jack Johnson, surf pop, and a little dash of contemporary island music. In addition to making a strong name for himself alone, he has worked on alot of collaborative work with the artists below: he takes private clients as a co-writer, producer, and engineer. Michael has worked with emerging artists and producers such as Rodrigo Cotelo, Ella Poletti, Mothcircuit, Kacie Swierk, Sipe, and Jack Glover.

Crooked Flower Channels 90s Sound In Around & Around

Crooked Flower showcases one of their standout tracks Around & Around from their 2018 released album Into The Light in their latest music video. With Angie Dang’s strong vocal talent, one can see how Crooked Flower is getting recognized via over 160,000 plays on the music video. When you think of the influences the band has had the following bands come to mind in sound and vocal style, No Doubt, Cheap Trick, and Lemuria. “You left me all alone, left me sitting on the side of the road” showcases just a little bit of the complex aspect of being half in a relationship and half out. Around & Around carries psychadelic visuals that make sense as you ebb and flow through the band in the video, thus making them intentional for the audience’s visual experience. The instrumental finesse of the accompanying talents of Daniel Erik on Bass, Dan Ingberman on Guitar, and Patrick Shields on Drums & Percussion all highlight the overall musicianship the entirety of the group possesses. 2019, watch out for Crooked Flower they are ready to take the rock and roll world by storm.

Erich Mrak Spins A Beat of Sound In Latest Single Drive

Synth beats, the wave of hip  hop, and strong lyrics all paint Erich Mrak’s sound.  Polished and refined, the talents of his producer Bento shows through as well. With lyrics such as “down in the city, under the lights, I’ve got the time”, he sets up scenes through his music, creating an experience for his listeners. When trying to frame who his sound is like, one can place it in the realm of EDM and electro-hip hop. The bands, Cherub, Spooky Black, Foster the People and a dash of Drake all rolled into one best exemplify Mrak’s sound. Drive will be the 2nd of Mrak’s 6 singles released consecutively from January to June, culminating in a finished EP. After they are released, live performances of each song will be released as well. 2019, watch out for this musician to climb the charts without a doubt.

Eddy Yang Brings All The Grit & Angst On In The City Track

Gear up your headphones and be ready to without a doubt dance along the sidewalk. Eddy Yang in his A New City EP shows not only strong vocals as a singer, but the instrumentals work together as well on his EP. From start to finish, it flows in a cohesive and well arranged way. With a mixture of self reflecting and the theme of being on a quest of self discovery, Yang not only delivers through his strong lyrics, but closing your eyes and listening, he hits on all the right emotions. With the mixture of the beat sounds as well, it puts the music in the category of rock, but also has the elements of soul and hip-hop. When thinking of bands that are similar, I would reference Goo Goo Dolls, Smashing Pumpkins, and The Verve for the rock elements of his music and City & Color, Conor Oberst, and Sonic Youth for the punk and grit influences.
