AnnaMay Wows In Latest Single Grab The Moon Remix

27 Jul

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Annamay  meshes soulful rock and elements of country in her music. Her song sounds like that of a bard amongst the days of the Iliad and the voices of the Sirens. An interesting fact about Annamay that makes her even more fascinating is she developed herself to become an engineer specializing in the infrastructure of the underground and urban planning. With the lyrics “no time for sorrow”, the environmental lyrics of stars and the sky, she brings an element of starry eyed dreaminess to her work. Her music is so unique, I can’t quite draw exact similarities between her and other female musicians in her genre and space. The only one that is the slightest similar to her work is Lykke Li. She carries similar breathtaking vocals and carries an element of an unknown world in her lyrics and musical arrangement as well.

Krigarè Spins A-Ha’s Take On Me Into Something All Her Own

11 Apr

Krigarè takes the original acclaimed hit by A-Ha’s Take On Me and makes it her own. While my loyalty lies with the original one, Krigarè makes this song her own with the angsty undertones. Instrumentally, it is not your standard pop song, but rather its slowed down, making it intentionally rock and carrying synthetic vibes with the musical arrangement. In this instance, do not write this off as simply a cover, Krigarè channels so much more within this song. Her name literally translates to the word Warrior and it shows in her music. With the strong and fearless attitude and unique approach to making music, its no surprise she has nothing short of warrior like qualities. Prior to this cover release, she began her journey in the music industry by playing piano for Kelly Clarkson at the Grammy Awards and has composed songs within the cinematic industries as well. Further adding to her warrior ship, she was diagnosed with two different cancers at 16, and has persevered joining worldwide outlets, over 75 radio stations, and some of the most popular streaming services such as Itunes, Spotify, and Pandora. No matter where she is, Krigarè wows with this cover and with her talents, story, and what is to come on her journey as a musician.
