Christopher Sluka delivers enchanting visuals in the latest video for Vampire’s Ball with an opening piano intro that draws similarities to David Bowie in his vocals. Directed by Eric Bishop, the video begins with a view of a boardwalk and visual images around the idea of common place areas that everyone frequents to that of Sluka in front of an ethereal backdrop and then finishing into a statement on social activism, something our world needs right now. With lyrics like they cry all the time, and we may never look back demonstrates the uncertainty in the world, both in pandemic and social issues. You can definitely sense an international tone to his music and a worldly view to what is important to this group. Finding musical inspiration in Japan, Sluka previously had released albums there as he felt more connected to the musical energy. If you aren’t inspired already, Christopher Sluka is an artist through and through, creating oil paintings and having shown his art in galleries all around the world. Tying the greatness of the band with an accompanying visual masterpiece with love, pain, and hope wrapped all in one will exceed audience’s expectations as they tune in.

With lyrics reminiscent of streams of consciousness and free prose, the track reveals a reflective tone throughout the track. A lyric that stands out within the track “holding hands on the edge of journey” points out the meditative and thought provoking characteristics of Cullen’s songwriting. His sound reminds listeners of the sound of artists such as Depeche Mode, Nick Cave, and Spooky Black. With the tones and musical style compared to noir music and Southern Gothic Americana, Do You Believe does not disappoint those who are eager to listen to a unique sound by a musician standing out in a genre all his own.

Jane In Space Makes Audience Rethink About Industrial Rock In Track Feel It Alive

18 Aug

With the introduction of Feel It Alive, Jane in Space manages to show dark music in a modern, yet moody light. Contrast to your typical industrial rock, Jane in Space accompanies the dark sound with the perfectly balanced synths and exaggeration of the song title in various combinations throughout the track. Doing so, almost creates an otherworldliness among the audience that Jane in Space plays to. In addition to that, it almost induces a transcendental connection to Feel It Alive as well. Mastered by Tom Baker, who is credited with mastering songs of the sounds of Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, and Wolfmother to name a few, uses his mastering signature in Jane in Space’s intentional sound. All in all the tone of Feel It Alive may sound dark, but it brings those who listen to it alive and emotionally charged.
