Words Of Yesterday Represents Everything That A Phoenix Needs To Rise From Their Ashes And Transform

6 May

Upon first listening to Benny Bassett, one can close their eyes and visualize the idea of chance and how it fits in the realms of love, life, and other areas. With his lyrics and unique storytelling, he paints visual pictures with lyrics such as “I want to show you this heart on my sleeve” and “mood is heavy, heartache forgotten with just one stare” in one of the songs Window to Forever. listeners can pick up on his reflective and meaningful way of intertwining his stories in his songs. Words of Yesterday overall sets up each track representing lost opportunities in certain situations, culminating in the heavy collection of songs. Bassett not only inspires listeners with the album, but it’s also to be held with a sense of empowerment as well. With every loss, there can be wins that are found. Following his second album, this 6 track EP will draw even more of a potential audience to his music. Instrumentally strong, the sound of the album sounds intentional and a varied mixture of rock, easy listening, and lyrical. There are dashes of country influence riffs and grit that will appeal to anyone taking a listen.

Love & Change Brings The Sound of Americana & Folk From Todd Warner Moore

29 Apr

Love & Change released from Todd Warner Moore channels everything a listener loves about Americana and Folk Music. The overall album spans across different moods and vibes within the track list. When thinking of additional bands that come to mind that carry the same feel as Todd Warner Moore, different ones channel aspects of Moore’s sound. For a more contemporary aspect, Joshua Radin sounds very similar. Honing in on the Americana homage points to the vocals of The Weepies and Jaymay. With lyrics that focus heavily on the art of storytelling first meetings, tough goodbyes, and everything in between, Moore characterizes the definition of a raw musician. “Goodbye on a sunny day, brightens all the shadows in a beautiful way” is a memorable lyric as it coexists among the emotions of happiness and sadness all in one. For the music connoisseur who wants to kick it back to original and one of a kind musicianship, do yourself a favor and start streaming the playlist.

ALYA’s Experimental Sound In 10 Years of Solitude Makes A Statement

20 Apr

ALYA’s Ten Years of Solitude sounds like the underrated movie soundtrack score that people cannot stop talking about after a lackluster cinematic experience. Born in Russia, musician Alya Michelson carries a wordly sound that only contributes to her powerful vibe. If her listeners think that she is solely musically talented, they will not be surprised that a classically trained ballerina, performance artist, painter, and multi-linguist accompany her musician title. Something that should be noted about this album is that all profits from it will go towards the Naked Heart Foundation directly helping kids with special needs and learning disabilities, led by Natalya Vodyanova. When listening to her music, the talent that lies within her vocally is immediately heard. Singers whose voices her audience may find similarities between include Gwen Stefani, Amy Lynn Hartzler of Evanescence, and Amanda Palmer. Her sound has a mixture of theatre, vaudeville undertones, and Eastern European elements. ALYA’s music has received recognition as well being named Best Music Video: Animals by the California Women’s Film Festival and Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood. Through her raw energy and vessel of a voice, ALYA is off to a great start with her music in 2019.

GEA Sings With Her Heart First In Newly Released EP Snow

20 Apr

GEA is a master storyteller as she crafts her songs with her unique sound. With her EP Snow, there is a mixture of easy listening tunes and heavier ones as well.  The song Snow itself was influenced by a death of her friend. The story is of a young boy who tells his mother that he came to the world to be a snow angel. Fast forward 10 years later, and he passed away when their town got the first snow of Winter. Linking up that song with the way GEA delivers the memoriam is breathtakingly heartfelt. The musical arrangement is that of another world, with piano, violin, and synthy dream pop working together to yield a galaxy signature sound. Additionally, when listeners pair up GEA with similar artists she spans more than Nordic rock, but also can be put in the categories of EDM, Indie Pop, Dream-Pop. Only gaining recognition in September 2017 with her music, she has been nominated by the NBT Music Radio in Germany for that album and many others ever since including Hollywood Intl Golden Film Award Best Soundtrack Award for other songs. Hard work pays off as she recently released her single Time at SXSW this March and her showcase was completely sold out. By the power of connection and having a pure and organic sound, listeners recognize that GEA is unapologetically herself and the popularity follows.
