Peter Senior Gets Listeners In The Anthem Spirit For This Season With Album On The Edge

25 Nov

Tony Bennett, Billy Joel, Elton John, and countless other iconic musicians come to mind when one thinks of Peter Senior. When you close your eyes and envision the musician entertaining you and wanting you to connect with the music, you know you’ve found a musician at a person’s core. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, it’s no surprise that Senior has been surrounded by music his whole life and furthermore he comes from a musical family. Notably starting his performances around the high school period of his life, he honed in on his talent on the piano and performed in local musicals as well. Those two things paired together would go on to shape Peter Senior’s future. Overall, the variety of tracks on On The Edge span across the genres of Country, Rock, and even a dash of Motown. The themes of the songs on the album range from feel good anthems to songs that are odes to other periods of life and the concept of time. If you are wanting to take a listen to a musician that carries a strong voice, has a strong band ensemble, and gets you connected with his music and energy upon listening to the first time, go ahead and listen to Senior as soon as you can. Rest assured, you won’t regret it.

Eric Anders & Mark O’Bitz’s Matterbloomlight Shakes Up The Power Of A History Connection In Latest Track

21 Oct

With the track sounding so reminiscent of appalachia rock, Matterbloomlight showcases a lightness and heaviness all at the same time. Standout lyrics such as “we cannot become this light” point to the metaphor of eternal life. Eric Anders & Mark O’Bitz have a history of making music together on and off, now reunited again. Unlike shifting out of collaborating with each other, these two have been a huge part of each other’s musical careers. Their fusion of talents on this single should prepare listeners for nothing but good things on their upcoming album Ghosts To Ancestors. Matterbloomlight pays homage to George Saunders’ novel Lincoln In The Bardo. For those unfamiliar with Saunders’ novel, it takes place all in one night, set in bardo. Bardo, a Tibetan term for the Buddhist principle describing the time spent between life and rebirth. With the spiritual significance and their collaborating magic, listeners are anticipating what the next road in the journey will be for these two and what they create.

Liquid Lotus Delivers Raw Emotion From Artist Mah-Ze-Tar

20 Oct

If you listen closely to Mah-Ze-Tar’s music you will find a spiritual level to it and the raw emotion that he puts in his music as well. Stand out tracks on the album include Maand and Cosmic Union. With the majesticness, zen tone to the album, and use of the sitar and other instruments, it goes without saying that Mah-Ze-Tar is intentional with the feel and tone of his music. Known for playing Burning Man, Lighting In A Bottle, and impressive collaborations with Kaminanda. By mixing Hindi and English, he’s not afraid to blend the two to spin out an even more diverse album. By mixing the sounds and cultures from all around the world, this is an album to listen to if you want music to be inspired by, moved by, and to incorporate in your life. With this being his premiere album, listeners should be excited for the future music that he’s destined to create.

Gorillaz Are On Fire

18 Jun

After a six-year gap between its last two albums (Humanz was released last year), Gorillaz is on the heels of The Now Now, the band’s sixth studio album, which will be released on June 29. Why such a quick turnaround? Well, for all intents and purposes, it seems like Damon Albarn, Blur frontman and Gorillaz lead, feels like he is getting old, and he might as well release as much as he can without waiting another seven years like the last album gap. Seems reasonable enough.

What is not aging is the music. Gorillaz is one of those rare bands that continues findings itself on the cutting edge of music. “Fire Flies,” one of the tracks off the new album, is no exception.

My favorite Gorillaz track in a while, “Fire Flies” takes on a Demon Days feel with its sultry darkness, fit with heavy bass, dreamy synth, and excellent vocal. The persistent rhythm is produced with classic Gorillaz flair, a euphonious concoction of melody. It’s just a tremendous track, continued proof that Gorillaz will keep popping out excellent tunes for as long as they decide to proceed as a group.

Hidden Roots Shows A Reflective Vibe From Musician luliano

26 May

Intially turning on luliano’s music will make listeners want to reflect on his strong lyrics and effortless sound. On the other hand on some other tracks, listeners will want to dance while listening to the feel good music that luliano creates. Drawing comparisons to the musicians Mika and Devendra Banhart, luliano combines vocal similarities with the sound of electric and nylon guitar strings in the background of his tracks. Listeners can also hear a subtle hint of Toro y Moi within his music as well. Hidden Roots is not only well formed in sound, but tells us just a start of what luliano has in store for the future. Hearing musical inspiration from all around Europe, luliano crafts his sound into something we can all experience when turning on Hidden Roots in our headphones.
